Kaldur nodded once Amistad put the ice cream in the cart. “Good choice. But if you get chocolate ice cream then you have to get vanilla cake.”

Amistad pursed his lips for a moment as if thinking about it before he smiled and nodded his head. “Okay, let’s get vanilla then!” It wasn’t his favorite, but any cake was better than no cake.

Kaldur loaded the cake into the cart and then began to head towards the checkout line. “Then unless you can think of anything else you want Amistad then I think we are good to go.”

Kaldur smiled up at her “I can not exactally ask you to attend to me while you are covered in flour.” He placed his hands on her hips. “And you nit pick over which woman  is the most attractive. It takes the enjoyment out of it.”

"If you wanted to look at attractive women and enjoy it, there is always porn," Jade smirked down at him. "Anything else, I am allowed to voice my opinion on their hotness factor."

Kaldur shook his head. “Only you would draw the line at pornography.”

"Yeah, I can do it," Lian said, taking the spray can from him. She lined up the pan like an artist would an easel and held the spray can up to it with care. She proceeded to give it a nice, even coat.

Roy watched them for a moment before turning back to his own work. He waited like Kaldur said for the pad to warm up before placing the chicken onto it, then studied it carefully as it started to sizzle. He really never had been great at grilling things, other than maybe grilled cheese, but he was determined not to mess this one up.

"Wow you’re good." Amistad said, impressed with Lian’s spraying skills.  "Now we just put the pieces of dough in the pan and my dad can put it in the oven."

Kaldur returned to the stove. “You shouldn’t have to worry about flipping the chicken over for a few minutes. Roy.”

Lian grinned as she helped put the dough onto the pan. “Thanks, so are you.”

Roy glanced back at Kaldur and cleared his throat. “Well, yeah, I know… I just want to be ready when I do. The chicken is important, after all.”

Kaldur chuckled. “Watching it won’t make it cook faster.” He reached over to the microwave and set a timer. “There, when it beeps in a few minutes then you can flip them.”

The waitress returned to check up on them, although she still seemed a little nervous, she at least was no longer blushing. She refilled their brinks and then asked. “Did you all leave room for dessert?”

Roy lifted and eyebrow and looked back at Lian. “I don’t know, did we?”

"Of course!" she replied, already grabbing for the dessert menu. Roy knew better than to deny her dessert, but at least she never went for anything too heavy. "Ummm… Can I get the yogurt parfate?"

"Parfait, Lian, the T is silent."

"Oh," she said, giving the word a funny look. "The parfait, then."

"Okay one Parfait," The waitress said as she jotted the order down. "Do you know what fruit you want? We have strawberry, raspberry, blueberry and peach."

Jade laughed and shrugged, giving her sister a small smile. “What can I say. The Shadows have excellent pay, and the health benefits you can’t beat,” The worst part was, she was not joking either. “You should see my maternity leave package.”

"I’m sure it’s just fantastic," Artemis mumbled, rolling her eyes. It wasn’t that she didn’t believe Jade (but let’s be honest, she didn’t), she was just a little preoccupied about finding her fiancee than talking about the Shadow’s benefits, and surely their upcoming pension plans. "Is there anything else you can help us with, Jade?"

Kaldur drained the last of the tea from his cup. He was ready to go out and start the search not that they had all the information they could get at the moment.

Kaldur smirked over at her. “If my lady says so.” He wrapped a arm around her shoulders and pulled her close.

"My lady?" Jade snuggled against his chest, inhaling his scent. "Someone’s been watching the Tudors without me again…."

Kaldur chuckled. “I have to do something when you are not here to keep me busy.”

"I work at home, you can’t claim I’m not here all the time," She laughed, rolling on top of him, straddling his hips between her legs. "You just want to see all the naked girls without me."

Kaldur smiled up at her “I can not exactally ask you to attend to me while you are covered in flour.” He placed his hands on her hips. “And you nit pick over which woman  is the most attractive. It takes the enjoyment out of it.”

"I suppose having a water dragon on hand would come in handy during kitchen fires," Roy commented, as he began to set up the chicken to grill. He wasn’t entirely sure what he was doing, but he had Kal there to direct him at least.

Lian giggled and gave Naiad a playful pet on the head. “Naiad is the best dragon ever.”

Naiad chirped in agreement.

"Let the pad warm up for a bit before putting the chicken on or else it will take longer to cook." Kaldur directed.

"Dad the dough is ready to be cut now," Amistad said.

Kaldur turned down the heat on the burner he was using to make the Alfredo sauce and grabbed a pan for the bread, some cooking spray and a knife. He passed the pan and spray to Amistad and then cut the dough into eight pieces.

Amistad offered the pan and spray to Lian. “Do you want to spray the pan?”

"Yeah, I can do it," Lian said, taking the spray can from him. She lined up the pan like an artist would an easel and held the spray can up to it with care. She proceeded to give it a nice, even coat.

"Once a month should be enough." Kaldur said. "Otherwise we won’t be able to go to your other favorite restaurants."

Lian grinned. “Okay, once a month is good!” There were still a lot of other restaurants that she liked, so they definitely had to get those in too, but coming here more often would be a big plus.

"Good, now finish your dinner, and remember—slow," Roy replied, with a smile of his own.

The waitress returned to check up on them, although she still seemed a little nervous, she at least was no longer blushing. She refilled their brinks and then asked. “Did you all leave room for dessert?”

"Probably?" Kaldur shook his head and smiled. "If we come more often would you like that Lian? That way you will not feel the need to gobble it all up now."

Lian’s face lit up at the suggestion. “Can we?” she asked, with wide eyes. Her attention went from Kal over to her father.

Roy cleared his throat and lifted an eyebrow at Kal, then looked back at Lian. “Well, I don’t really see the problem with that. But only if you eat at a more moderate pace, how about that?”

Taking only a small bite of the rest of her pizza, she gave a simple thumbs up and smiled.

"Once a month should be enough." Kaldur said. "Otherwise we won’t be able to go to your other favorite restaurants."
